The GMKtec NucBox K8 Plus is a compact Ryzen 7 mini PC sold with an official 2-year Hong Kong warranty. It pairs an AMD Ryzen 7 8845HS (8 cores / 16 threads, Zen 4, up to 5.1GHz) with Radeon 780M graphics, 32GB DDR5 memory and a 1TB SSD, which covers office work, multi-monitor setups, home entertainment and mainstream gaming. Two SO-DIMM slots take up to 128GB of memory, and two M.2 PCIe 4.0 slots allow up to 4TB each (8TB total). Dual USB4 ports and an OCuLink port (PCIe 4.0 x4) connect an external GPU (eGPU), and dual 2.5G LAN suits NAS, soft-router or home-lab use.

Q: Can I upgrade the memory and SSD?
A: Yes. The K8 Plus has 2 SO-DIMM slots and ships with 32GB DDR5 5600MT/s, upgradeable to 128GB. For storage it has 2 M.2 2280 PCIe 4.0 NVMe slots, up to 4TB each, 8TB in total. SATA SSDs are not supported.
Q: What can I do with OCuLink?
A: The OCuLink port (PCIe 4.0 x4) connects an OCuLink eGPU dock with a desktop graphics card to boost gaming, video editing and AI performance. The dock and GPU are sold separately. OCuLink is not hot-pluggable, so connect or disconnect it only when the PC is powered off.
Q: How many monitors can it drive?
A: Up to 4 displays at once via HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort 2.1 and two USB4 ports, at up to 4096 x 2160.
Q: Is it good for gaming or AI?
A: Radeon 780M runs popular online games smoothly and some AAA titles at low to medium settings. Because the memory can be expanded, it can also run small local LLMs. For demanding AAA games or larger AI models, we recommend adding an eGPU via OCuLink.
